Wine Tasting: Boet Le Roux

Name: Boet Le Roux Old Vine Colombard
Varietal: Colombard
Region: Swartland
Country: South Africa
Year: 2014
Price: $7.95
Wine Review from the Washington Post: "Colombard is not considered on of the great wine grapes and is used mostly for Cognac in France and white jug wines in California. This old vine example from South Africa, though, is delicious. Crisp and refreshing with zesty acidity, it's a delightful wine to start a party."
My Review: This wine has a strong sweet citrus smell. The flavor of the wine was not overpowering and I could taste  hints of sweet fruits. One specific taste that I could detect was a slight hint of melon. I did not try this wine with food.
